We
are always willing to keep new resumes on file for both non-medical
and medical staff. The clinic is currently open just under 60 hours
a week but has become busy enough that we need to expand. We now use
the Walk-in/Family Practice as a split working arrangement for doctors,
allowing all doctors some time to book patients as well as time to
maintain the Walk-in concept. This way we are keeping four (3/4 time)
doctors working at the clinic. All doctors new to the clinic can maintain
active privileges at the local hospital if they wish to develop family
practices. That is why we keep the clinic time to 3/4. Working here
allows a personal life still! At this clinic we see and deal with
all kinds of interesting problems, it is not like Walk-ins in bigger
centres and we have always emphasized continuing care. We also have
a strict narcotic policy. You will make less than in regular practice
but in 30-36 hours/week. We can take a husband/wife couple looking
for a more relaxed lifestyle.

It will be getting harder, in the future, to move to such a desirable
city and the Kootenay Lake Medical Clinic offers a doctor, or a
married couple (physicians) a golden opportunity to move here and
design a practice according to their needs and lifestyle. Nelson
is close to the U.S. border and well served by airlines (Castlegar-Vancouver/Calgary)
both nearby and there are also many good deals to be had from Spokane.

not find a more interesting small community in Canada, we guarantee
